October is the month dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.
Arneg, recognizing the importance of prevention, decided to join the "Free Mammography and Ultrasound" event by giving away diagnostic examinations for breast cancer prevention to its female employees.
On October 5th, WelfareCare's mobile clinic, located inside the Arneg headquarter, provided breast screening to all employees who decided to join the initiative.
For Massimo Forcolin, QHSE Director, "the initiative is a message that speaks to our awareness that work well-being also passes through people's mental and physical well-being. By offering a free exam during normal working hours we shorten the distance between non-work and work life, knowing that nowadays they can no longer be considered separate."
"The project has been received with great enthusiasm, and memberships have been high. A great added value of this service was the delivery of the exam result a few minutes after the visit." Armando De Crescenzo, HR Director of Arneg, thus comments on the success of the event and points out that Arneg has a strong female composition: employees make up about 25 percent of the total, an important figure for a metalworking company, a predominantly male sector.
Making a test like this accessible and free, is our way of giving proper attention to an issue as broad and important as prevention. A gesture that wants to make a concrete contribution to the community on a disease that strikes more frequently every day and that affects us all, more or less closely.
Prevention for us means investing time and resources not in the disease, but in the health and daily well-being of the person.
