For an increasingly sustainable world

Changes in society, the occurrence of more serious and unpredictable natural phenomena, the extinction of animal species, the acceleration of desertification and a lack of natural resources like water have changed mankind's attitudes towards nature and created a genuinely "green" conscience. In recent years we have seen a growth in environmental awareness at all levels.

Today, we all understand that everything we do can impact the environment.

We therefore choose domestic appliances on the basis of energy performance; we separate our waste ever more accurately; we check the origin of products and assess the environmental impact of production processes when buying in the supermarket… and that's not all.

Arneg has long been aware of these developments. Back in the early 2000s – well ahead of the rest of the commercial refrigeration sector – we implemented a process to continuously reduce the environmental impact of our activities and products. By way of proof, Arneg has held ISO 14001 certification since 2007 and designs and manufactures products with ever closer attention to environmental aspects.

Convinced of Lavoisier's assertion that "nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed", we closely evaluate every phase in the life cycle of our refrigerated cabinets.

Our processes and materials conform to the most recent safety and environmental standards in order to constantly reduce the tons of CO2 equivalent needed for production. For example, over the last 10 years we have reduced the kilograms of CO2 equivalent associated with the production of a refrigerated cabinet by some 59%.

Our products are made to last for many years, but like everything else, eventually come to the end of their useful life. Arneg does not ignore even this aspect of a product's life cycle. Old refrigerated cabinets are always collected and disposed of by authorised companies who use the latest systems to treat waste and guarantee that 96% of the materials in any refrigerated cabinet are recycled.

Finally, though not many people know it, by far the largest part of the environmental impact of our products during their life cycle – about 95% – is due to the consumption of electrical energy over many years of functioning. That is why our designers are always focused on developing new technical solutions for reducing the energy consumption of our products while still guaranteeing unrivalled performance.

By way of example, let us mention some of the most innovative solutions we have adopted:

  • electronic expansion valves
  • low-energy electronic fans
  • glass doors in wall cabinets
  • unheated glass doors in low temperature cabinets
  • glass covers in low temperature islands
  • double air curtain systems in open wall cabinets
  • LED lamps instead of fluorescent lamps
  • ARNEG AIR SYSTEM technology in wall cabinets with doors.

At Arneg, we do all this because we believe in a circular economy model. This is the road we are committed to follow, in keeping with our corporate values, to achieve an increasingly sustainable world.
